This scenery is very rearly shown on the web cam, due to the new "old style" appartment buildings that were finised on this place here in 2002.

This picture is shot in 2001. Just right of the red house, the fundament of the old Hasseloy bridge is still visible. The large white house (top lft) with a tower on, was built late 1800 by the first Sildakonge / Herring king of Haugesund: Steffen Staalesen. Today it is owned by Johannes Østensjø, the owner of the barrel making company Johs. Østensjø & Co AS.
The white wooden house with a corner tower in the middle of the picture is part of Lodsgaten (The pilot street). Behind that we se the yellow corner house beeing situated in Hasselgaten.

The waterway is the northern part of Smedasundet, passing through central Haugesund.

These pages describe the area presented on the automatic WebCamera on the site Haugalandet Net. The webcam is operating daytime, but stops updating when dark. We turn the camera in between to show the 3 different sceneries presented here (see links under the picture left)
