Southern view
This picture show you the southern part of Hasseløy and Risøy (left behind)  with the large industry hall of ABB, former locally owned as HMV.  Far behind we can see part of Karmøy and Storasund. Between the industy hall and the Karmøy tanks the strait Karmsund is one of the most important waterways of Norway, connecting Boknafjord and Sletta. 1000 years ago it had a name that later on had been adopted as the name of our country: Norvegen (Norway - Norwegen i german).

All left left we may see part of an old packhouse owned by Osmund Hamre. Is was used for wooden barrel production up to the 1970's.

The old houses on the island has been used for different purposes, and are part of the old heritage of Haugesund.

Just left of this scenery we find the well known Inner quay and Smedasundet area. The waterway close is northern Smedasund.

These pages describe the area presented by the automatic WebCamera on the site Haugalandet Net. The webcam is operating daytime, and stops updating when dark. We turn the camera in between to show the 3 different sceneries presented here (see links under the picture left)
