Så fikk vi endelig et cruiseskipanløp
her i byen. MS "Seabourn Sun" bringer dollarsterke turister verden rundt.
Ifølge Berlitz internettsider tilbyr de et verden rundt-cruise med
dette skipet hvor prisene starter på 70.600 dollar pr person hvis
du sover i dobbeltlugar (det høres helt utrolig ut, men det
står faktisk det!). Skipet reiser på opplevelsesturer verden
rundt, og nå er turen kommet til Haugesund og Karmøy. Under
det 11 timer lange oppholdet her kan turistene velge sightseeing som inkluderer
en bytur inkl. Haraldshaugen og så direkte til Avaldsnes. Andre velger
seg bare busstur til byen, og så er det satt opp shuttlebusser som
frakter dem tilbake etterhvert som de er lei. Men hvorfor Haugesund av
alle steder. Jo - kaptein Lura og noen av offiserene er herfra. I fjor
lot de skipet bli "bordet" av vikinger ved Bukkøy. I år sørget
han for skikkelig landkjenning.

At last we got a luxury cruise visitit
here in Haugesund. MV "Seabourn Sun" travels with rich dollar tourists
around the world. The price level is very high, if we shall belive the
web pages of Bertlitz. Their Around the world cruise with this ship actually
have prices that start at over 70.000
dollars per person in a double room! During their 11 hour stay
here, the tourists will be presented Haraldshaugen, the town and Avaldsnes.
But why Haugesund? (other places are Sydney, Phuket, Manilla, Pitcairn
Island, Suez canal ......., they actually cruise around the world). The
ships captain - and some more officers too, are from Haugesund. Last year
he accepted to be "boarded" by vikings at Bukkøy, Avaldsnes. This
year, he stopped over a day. We appreciated that, and hope that the guests
liked it, too!
