| Det er stille i byen. En gang,
for noen år siden, skrev en Dagblad-journalist om denne byen som
sydet av liv i August - men som dovnet hen resten av året, og vi
ble fryktelig fornærmet. Men litt rett hadde han vel, og stille nå
er ikke å forakte. Vi trenger litt pusterom innimellom, selv vi haugalendinger!
Og allerede til helgen er det Havnedager, med folkeliv og røre igjen!

It's quiet in town after the jazz festival.
But it is good for us - we can't have the jazzing kind of life all the
time. And - already this weekend, the Harbor day festival is the next event
of the festival month of August in Haugesund ( Friday-Sunday ).
This was the busiest bottleneck of the town last week
