Noe av det utenommusikalske som preger
Sildajazzen er alle småbåtene, normalt ca 500 i tallet, som
kommer fra nær og fjern og "kaster anker" ved Indre kai. Og
her blir de liggende, enten de trives eller ei. I hvert fall de ivrigste
- og de er allerede kommet. Her blir det ikke mye søvn i dagene
som kommer - men det er en del av "spillet". Vi møtte noen et annet
sted i Norge nylig som kalte festivalen vår en sosialfestival. Og
det har de nok rett i. For er det noen gang at vi Haugesundere er så
sosiale som nettopp under Sildajazzen? "Kom igjen, Sildajazz - we love
you for what you do to - and with us". For de som ikke allerede vet det:
Sildajazzen starter i morgen ! Da blir jazzen et virkemiddel for å
få oss så sosiale som aldri ellers!

One of the special things that we experience
during the Sildajazz festival is the flow of small boats visiting and staying.
Normally app. 500 of them are "anchoring" by the Inner quay. And
here they have to stay, at least those of them that has already arrived.
This is a lively world in the days to come, and the people on the boats
will have reduced opportunities to get their needed sleep, but I dont think
they care. Someone we met a couple of weeks ago, called this festival a
joyful event. And it is. "Come on, Sildajazz: We love you for what you
do to - and with us". In case you dont already know: The Sildajazz starts
tomorrow and ends in the weekend. We hope to be able to show you some glimpses!
