Shelley Kirilenko and her husband Andrei
visited Haugesund to search for her ancestors homestead. One of Shelley's
ancestors emigrated from the small farm Gangstø in Vikebygd and
he later met and married a woman from Kallevik near Haavik in Bømlo.
This was Shelley's first visit and even
if her uncle Dave Nelson had been to Haugesund some years ago, no one in
the family had visited their ancestor's homesteads.
In Vikebygd Helge Nagel-Alne had offered
to be their guide and he had been able to locate the homestead and the
house that her ancestor (Abel Nelson) was born in. The house was still
there.

close to the sea and here is Shelley and Andrei returning from a visit
to the old boathouse on the property.

The next day they visited the Kallevik
family at Kallevik in Bømlo and was greeted as honoured guests.
Helge Kallevik, whoh erself is very interested in genealogy, has done extensive
work on the Kallevik family, and had been searching for two years for this
branch of the family.
Here are the cousins Helga and Shelley
in front of Helga's home at Kallevik.
