"Sundream" heter denne båten. Det
tyder vel på at hjemmehavnen er et sted slik som her - hvor solen
ikke alltid skinner. Så kjøper de billett og håper,
passasjene. Men det må de nok fortsette med, for solen skinte slettes
ikke mens "Sundream" passerte nordover forbi Haugesund i dag morges.
Båtens opprinnelige navn var forøvrig
"Song of Norway". Den ble bygget i Finland i 1970 og rekondisjonert i 1997.
"Sundream" er 23.000 bruttotonn, 195 m lang, 24m bred, har 502 lugarer
og tar 1.150 passasjerer som betjenes av 400 mannskapsmedlemmer. Båten
er fremdeles norsk, men - det står Nassau på hekken. Slik er
det bare blitt.
"Sundream" ! De finner den vel i
nord-Norge. Der skinner den til og med døgnet rundt. God tur videre.

This ships name is "Sundream". I guess
that means that its home harbor is sort of like here - a place where the
sun does not always shine, making people dream for it. Then they buy their
tickets - and hope. But - they have to keep on dreaming. They did not find
the sun when passing northwards through the Karmsund area this morning.
Originally, this ship was called "Song
of Norway". It was built in Finland in 1970 and refurbished in 1997. It's
gross tonnage is: 23,005, no of passengers: 1,150, decks: 7, crew: 400,
no of cabins: 502 including. Total length: 194.3 metres (637 feet) and
width: 24 metres (79 feet). The ship is still owned by norwegians, but
has Nassau as its home harbor. That's how it is these days.
"Sundream" ! I guess they'll
find it in northern Norway. There, they even have sun all around the clock.
