17. mai er den dagen i året da alle
ønsker godt vær. Og det hjelper. Værgudene tar tydeligvis
hensyn til slike kollektive ønsker - for det er ikke ofte at Barnetoget
får dårlig vær. I år utviklet nasjonaldagen seg
til å bli riktig fin. Det var ikke kald vind en gang.
Dette nettstedets redaktør har arbeidet
18 timer i døgnet siste uken i forbindelse med en større
familiesamling i byen vår. Det er grunnen til sene og tildels manglende
utgaver den siste tiden. Når jeg nevner dette med min egen familie,
er det fordi stevnet, med 350 deltakere, kom i stand ved at noen henvendte
seg til Haugalandet Net for å finne sin familie, slik mange andre
har gjort, og fått hjelp til. Og så var det vår egen
familie. 9 av de 350 kom hele den lange veien fra USA, og noen av dem fikk
oppleve Norge og 17. mai for første gang. Slike ting nevner vi her
på dette nettstedet. I sommer kommer flere - ikke familien min -
men allikevel gode venner - etter at forbindelse ble opprettet via nettet.

of us wish will have good weather. And it helps. The "gods of the weather"
does not dare to make rain with all these people wishing the opposite.
Once again, we got no rain during the childrens procession - and not even
cold wind. And the weather got better as the day progressed.
This site has been helping out many of
you in finding family - and some of you we have met and helped during your
first stays here in Haugesund. This May, it is my own family members that
visited Haugesund and experienced their first May 17 - after having found
their family through this site. The preperations for a 350 people family
reuinon has made this sites editor work almost 18 hours a day the last
week - making this site and you people out there "suffer", finding no og
few updates of this site. Sorry!
