| Nok en gang er et arkitekttegnet
"byggverk" blitt mer til forargelse enn det vi har godt av. Slottgården
litt lenger nord i Haraldsgaten har vi så smått vent oss til,
og så er det blitt pyntet litt med maling mm. Men etter alt oppstyret
den gang, trodde vi at byens bygningsmyndigheter hadde fått litt
ekstra respekt for områder som krever vern. Og det gjør Bytunet.
Nå er det slutt på mulighetene til å ta et fint oversiktsbilde
der, for noe som ligner mest på en arbeidsbrakke står i veien.
Brakken inneholder en lenge etterlengtet pissoar og WC, og er hyper moderne.
Bl.a. vasker den seg selv etter hvert besøk. Byggverket tar seg
noe bedre ut fra motsatt side med dører inn
til avtredene - og i mørke, for da lyser veggene! Diskusjonene
om plasseringen kan ende opp i flytting, f.eks til området ved parkeringshuset
i Sørhauggaten, 100 meter unna.

A couple of weeks ago we got 2 new public
toilets in the town centre. One of them was put on
the lawns of Bytunet, the historic centre of Haugesund. Most of us
wanted the toilet, but dont like where they put it. The design can be discussed
- most people dont like it - but it looks better from the opposite side
with doors and instructions. And when its dark,
the walls are shining (lights). The discussions may end up in a getting
it moved to the parallell street Sørhauggaten.
