 High heli lift in Haugesund
IIt still was called Vetco Aibel (from March on: Aibel), our local huge offshore specialized yard on Risøy in central Haugesund. "Mærsk Inspirer", the 210 m. high (long legs) jackup platform that is here to be upgraded at the moment, got a 20 m high flame tower on top of one of its 210 m high legs in February. To do that, they called for a high capasity helicopter.
Todays pictures show you what and how. I was luck, pure coincidence, to be in position for taking pictures when all 3 of the main sections were moved.
One of the photos is presented huge, the biggest picture I have ever put on the Internet. It is heavily reduced, both to make it loadable on the Internet + to protect my copyright. If your browser reduces its size, "unpac it" and take a close look at the platform.
