 The worlds longest Herring buffet
Still another Sildabord (Herring based buffet) has been presented to the people of Haugesund - and our visitors, all for free. At the moment, we have lots of film and TV industry + cinema people in town, as participators in the Norwegian International Film festival 2006.
This years Sildabord presented 12 different herring dishes, including a Royal Danish one, presented and served by a Danish silver medal winner in the world championship for gourmet cooks.
The newspapers reported 30.000 prople. I'm not sure about that, but - the table, originally containing tons of good food, was almost empty after 2,5 hours. That means: Lots of people like Sild! Take a look:
