Vinteren regnet vekk

Men denne helgen brakte endringer.

The fine winter disappeared in rain

This week started with the finest winter days. All of us enjoyed the fine winter, while the newspapers and TV reported about and discussed the new and very high price we have got on electrical power (due to low temperatures and low water level in the mountains - now we have to import high priced electricity from other european countries). But this weekend brought us changes. Suddenly it was overcast with higher temperatures (+ 5-7C) and rain. We still had winter Friday, Saturday was wet and slushy, and on Sunday morning we had no more winter, at least here in Haugesund. Result: Sunday evening, the TV news reported lower currency prices, due to the higher temperatures!

I visited Vikedal in Vindafjord community, 60 km from Haugesund, this Sunday. In spite of constant rain they still had some snow there at 1-2PM. I had to use an umbrella to be able to shoot a couple of pictures - and got very wet (wind and rain).
