Haugesundsrederiet Johannes Østensjø
har satt nye rekorder. Ikke bare er denne båten den største
båt som noengang har besøkt Smedasundet. Den er og verdens
største supplyskip - og den har verdens største offshorekran
ombord. I denne uken var den splitter nye båten innom hjembyen på
visningstur.
Noen fakta: Båten er 100 meter lang
og 22 meter bred. Kranen, som altså er verdens største offshore
kran, løfter 100 tonn. Den gjør 16,5 knop fart ved hjelp
av sin 17.000 hestekrefter maskin. prislapp: 340 mill. kroner.

This ship, MV "Edda Fjord", is another
world record from Haugesund: It is the largest offshore supplyship ever
built. And - it is the largest ship that has ever visited Smedasundet.
It is not built here, but owned by the Haugesund company Johannes Østensjo
who proudly presented their brand new ship in its home town this week.
Some facts: Edda Fjord is 100 meters long,
22 meter wide, and has the largest offshore crane in the world, lifting
100 tons. The 17000 horsepower large engine give makes it run at 16.5 knots.
The price: 340 mill NOK.
