| Årets Æres-Ola
Flytt heter Harry Borgø. Som hedersmann
og båtbygger har han, sin beskjedenhet til tross, gjort seg meget
fortjent til å bli satt pris på med denne nye, lokale hedersprisen.
Uten ham ville vi knapt hatt noen av Ola Flyttfondets båter slik
de i dag fremstår. Før ham har to andre fått prisen:
årets utdeler Kristian
Magnus Vikse ( i 2001, da han skrev boken om Ola Flytt ) og artisten
Gunnar Andersen ( i
2000, da han gav ut en lokal visebok, og for at han fokuserte Ola-Flytt
saken gjennom sin sang ).
Vår Herre hedret dagen med det flotteste
vær, og den forløp etter alle kunstens regler, bl.a. med rokonkurranse
for å kunne utnevne årets Ola Flytt. Oppgaven går ut
på å ro fra Indre kai til Risøysiden, plukke opp en
unge, og ro tilbake og sette ungen på land på kortest mulig
tid. Vinnertiden ble utrolige 1 min 57 sekunder, utført av Årets
Ola Flytt, Anders Høvring fra Kopervik. I fjor vant hans far
på enda 2 sekunder bedre tid! Ellers ble det arrangert fiskekonkurranse
fra kaien, og en optimistjolleseilas i sundet
gikk heller ikke upåaktet hen. Som vanlig var Lasse Skjoldal en frisk
kommentator, denne gangen uten særlig med banneord. Så
det går også an!

Wooden boat builder
Harry Borgø was awarded the title the Honourable Ola Flytt of
the year for his job with rebuilding av restoring the boats of the Ola
Flytt foundation ( se picture on top). It took place in todays celebration
of the well known rowing boat ferry man called Ola Flytt, living and working
more than 100 years ago.
Later on we had a rowing competition to
find this years Ola Flytt. The task was, as last year, to row as fast as
possible from the Inner quay to Risøy, pick up a child, and row
it back to the Inner quey again. Winning was Anders
Høvring from Kopervik with the fantastic time of 1 min 57 sec.
But, last year, his father was 2 sec faster!
We had a race for small
sail boats (we call them optimists ), fishing competition and more
on, all of it happening to the fresh comments of Lasse
Skjoldal.

Byen var ellers preget av Sangerstevne,
"Syng i sydvest", med 700 sangere på besøk. Flere
steder var det satt opp Singers corners
We had a choir festival
in town this weekend, with more than 700 participating singers present.
Many places it was arranged with "Singers corners".
